Biography

Steve Dunfee is an award‑winning folk and classic country singer‑songwriter whose music blends heartfelt storytelling with the spirit of the open road. Drawing inspiration from legends like John Denver, Gordon Lightfoot, and Kris Kristofferson, Steve crafts songs rooted in sincerity, rich imagery, and lived experience. His sound weaves together traditional country, folk, and touches of bluegrass, creating melodies that resonate with audiences from the hills of Appalachia to listeners around the world.

Since launching his solo career in 2014, Steve has released five albums and more than twenty singles, earning airplay on Internet radio and streaming platforms across the globe. His songwriting has been recognized with honors including the 2019 Folk, Americana, and Bluegrass Artist of the Year at the Josie Music Awards and the 2017 Indie Artist Magazines Coalition Songwriter of the Year, along with numerous additional nominations.

A passionate collaborator, Steve has worked with fellow artists on fan‑favorite tracks such as “Broken Chains,” “Holy Land,” and “Mountain Man.” His solo acoustic performances—whether on a theatre stage or under a wide‑open sky—are known for their authenticity, warmth, and connection. He also brings his powerful voice to National Anthem performances at events throughout the year.

Offstage, Steve is most at home in nature. With a camera in hand and a songwriter’s curiosity, he draws inspiration from forests, rivers, and the quiet places in between. Each spring through fall, he and his wife travel across the United States and Canada, performing at campgrounds, festivals, and community gatherings. These journeys shape his music, allowing him to share stories and songs with people from all walks of life.

From intimate craft fairs to expansive outdoor venues, Steve Dunfee continues to build a musical legacy rooted in heart, honesty, and the landscapes he loves.
